Open up to Mater Amoris
As I’m writing these lines, I am already settled back home.
After a plentiful 2 week trip in South Korea (yes, I am going to tell you all about it soon), I have the same feeling of dismantling I always experience when travelling far from home. The thing is, you see…I simply adore far away places and extremely different cultures.
I first wanted to tell you all about Jupiter in Cancer before leaving to the k-world, but I thought it might be wiser to really catch the gist of it during its first days in Cancer, while I was on the road in SK. So here we are, almost 2 weeks later, Jupiter in Cancer (squaring Neptune and Saturn in Aries) in full swing with the world kind of fed up with the “world leaders” blowing everything up.
In many ways, the first half of this year felt like an uphill climb, a rollercoaster ride “not for the faint of heart”. Heavy planets changed their element and sign, Mars in Cancer stirred everything that we hid under the emotional carpet, eclipses, new Destiny Nodes.
Now a different cosmic tide is turning. Yes, we don’t get to rest much this year. The rollercoaster is on speed and we are on it.
On June 10th, Jupiter, the energy and principle of expansion, luck, and wisdom (also trickery) entered the soothing (still overly emotional and sometimes depressive, victimhood-y) waters of Cancer, the sign of its exaltation (ancient dignity).
This thing with exaltation is really a tricky thing, you see. Nothing peaceful and balanced comes from being in exaltation. More when Jupiter steps into such energies. It will feel like double, triple espresso if I am to be honest about it.
In this already turbulent year, Jupiter’s shift into Cancer might be the silver lining we’ve been quietly hoping for or the emotional trigger that sends everything into explosive mode. A deep stir of discontent is felt everyday. And most of the time, this discontent comes with leaders, patriarchy, old systems of oppression. And basically everything that Pluto in Capricorn tried so profoundly to weaken, reveal, distrust since 2008 until last autumn.
Overall, Jupiter in Cancer will expand, stir, challenge and put to work our inner emotional landscapes for the next 12 months. In a nutshell. But there are extremely deeper layers to these times, that will unfold both in a positive and negative way.
We will experience Mater Amoris & Mater Doloris at the same time. The intensity will really depend on our unique life circumstances our and evolutionary place in the world.
This transit though might be the thing we need to…release so many of our inner, family and subconsciously inflicted wounds. It might be a transit that if you understand it correctly and welcome it gladly, you might find it as the most emotionally supportive and spiritually nourishing transits of the year. Jupiter is the governor of Pisces and this year, the collective destiny is in Pisces. Some might say that Jupiter will be able to guide us, as a social planet but also a principle of expansion, to our dharma more than our karma.
Relief is coming; actually, not just relief, renewal. A renaissance of feeling is dawning, as the Great Benefic comes “home” to the realm of the cosmic Mother.
Jupiter in Cancer brings a profound change of focus. After a year in the restless Gemini, which flooded us with information, gossip, courses, short travels, no focus and even misinformation, the dharmic emphasis now shifts from thinking to feeling. Or even more, from overthinking to over-feeling. Ideas and words yield to emotions and intuition. Things no longer have to sound good; they have to feel right.
Our hearts will have to open.
More and more with this energy. Our wounds will be exposed for all to see and for us to heal. Sensitivity will heighten, sometimes overwhelming us, other times to cultivate empathy and deeper connection to our heart’s strongest desire.
We might be feeling it easier to “understand how the other side feels,” weaving common emotional threads where before there were only disparate facts. In a world starved for genuine care, Jupiter in Cancer will be able to show what we really need as healing, healers.
Spiritually and psychologically, Jupiter in Cancer asks us to return to the Mother principle, the source of life and love. To “bless the waters of our inner world”, to take care of our heightened sensitivity and compassion.
For the next 12 months, the nurturing impulse will thrive. Cancer’s desire to care and protect will be amplified by Jupiter’s generosity, infusing the collective psyche with a renewed emphasis on home, family, and emotional truth.
Many of us will want to slow down, return home and to our roots, tend to the places and faces that cared for us or that need healing.
Acts of kindness and communal support will take center stage; indeed, “acts of collective care are the best ways to honour Jupiter in Cancer.
So reconnect with family, both blood relatives and the family you chose. This is a year to reinforce the bonds of kinship and community, to create bigger “tents” of belonging.
The concept of family itself will expand: new members are embraced, old estrangements may heal, and friends or neighbours will be folded into a wider circle of care.
Jupiter in Cancer will encourage us to see that we are each other’s keepers; by caring for one another, we discover meaning and grace.
As a collective, we begin to remember that compassion is not a finite resource but a well that refills and even multiplies as we draw from it.
Cancer is a cardinal water sign, meaning its kindness asks activity, not passivity. Jupiter in Cancer doesn’t just invite us to feel; it spurs us to act on those feelings. If you haven’t considered actively yet astrology, therapy or family constellations, it might just be the right time.
Rather than sitting around hoping for security, this transit says: make it happen. We are CALLED to fortify our foundations and cultivate emotional safety in tangible ways. On a practical level, this might mean investing in our homes or creating supportive domestic spaces, as well as taking initiative to nurture our emotional well-being. Many will feel a pull to build a “bigger nest” or improve their living environment, reflecting a collective urge to secure the base from which our dreams can grow.
It’s a perfect time to practice what one might call sacred frugality, tending gardens, cooking for loved ones, mending instead of discarding, all gestures of care that ground us in a feeling of safety and abundance.
Meanwhile, our intuitive faculties are sharpening. Cancer rules the stomach, our gut feelings, and Jupiter’s presence here urges us to trust that intuitive voice within. There is “no better time to develop and trust your intuition”, to go with your gut. In a sense, care itself becomes our greatest currency, repaying us in peace of mind and profound fulfilment.
Think of 2013-2014 and what you have experienced back then. It’s not gonna be the same as you are a different individual now, living in a different world, but the main themes might just reappear again. In medical astrology, Cancer governs the stomach, digestive system, breasts, chest, and lymphatic flow, the emotional body’s physical expression. With Jupiter transiting Cancer, we may see both expansion and healing in these areas. On the one hand, Jupiter can exaggerate digestive sensitivity, fluid retention, or emotional eating tendencies, especially if feelings are suppressed or care is overextended. This transit supports deep nourishment, regenerative healing through food, intuitive eating, and somatic therapies. Jupiter here encourages us to treat the gut as the second brain, listening to our body’s wisdom and respecting emotional rhythms. Healing becomes possible when we prioritise safety, emotional regulation, and rest. For those in caregiving roles or recovering from burnout, this transit is especially supportive: it invites us to refill our inner cup before pouring into others. Herbal medicine, warm nourishment, hydrotherapy, and slow, grounding movement are particularly potent allies under Jupiter in Cancer.
In the collective soul, a deeper reverence for maternal wisdom awakens. There is an instinct now to honour the archetypal Mother, the Mater Amoris or “Mother of Love,” in everyday life. We are drawn to the “art of homemaking” not as drudgery, but as a sacred act of creating safety and warmth.
Rather than roam in search of meaning, we feel the call to root and bloom where we are. It turns out the sanctuary we’ve been seeking isn’t in some faraway land, it’s in the here, the now, the inner. Home is not just a place but a feeling we carry and cultivate.
Collectively, the next 12 months become a pilgrimage back to what is heartfelt and real. Old emotional wounds, especially those tied to family or lineage, may surface now not to hurt us, but to be healed. Jupiter in Cancer brings fertile energy for ancestral healing; we are invited to go “deeper into your roots” to understand and transmute the pain of our lineages, and to receive the gifts buried there.
This will have the potential to be a gentle revolution: by healing the past, we free the future.
Every renaissance has its birthing pains, and this one is no exception. In the early weeks of Jupiter’s Cancer sojourn, the planet of hope faces off with two other giants: Saturn and Neptune, both newly in Aries. These tense aspects present a cosmic test of our intentions. It’s as if the universe is ensuring that our emotional and spiritual growth comes with grounding and clarity. Saturn in Aries brings the voice of realism and responsibility into the dialogue. Its square with Jupiter can make us aware of friction between unchecked optimism and necessary limitation. We might feel the weight of practical concerns or external obstacles even as our hearts urge us forward. Yet the challenge of Jupiter square Saturn carries a wise teaching: “stay positive, don’t surrender to discouragement”. We are asked to balance Jupiter’s faith with Saturn’s discipline, to make sure that our grand visions have sturdy roots. If we heed this, our dreams won’t just soar, they’ll have the foundations to last.
Neptune in Aries, meanwhile, casts a gauzy, idealistic haze over this period, challenging us to discern truth from glamour. Jupiter square Neptune can be a double-edged sword: on one side, it heightens spiritual longings and imagination; on the other, it can blur boundaries and inflate illusions. We may find ourselves wrestling with big questions: Are our ideals attainable, or are we chasing mirages? Are we living in alignment with our true emotional needs, or lost in a fantasy of how things “should” feel? It’s easy under this influence to get swept up in collective dreams that may not have solid ground. “Don’t confuse your dreams with reality,” comes the warning. In practice, many of us could feel “torn between maintaining a sense of comfort and security in familiar surroundings versus chasing new, exciting, yet uncertain opportunities”. The heart (Cancer) says “hold what is safe and sacred,” while Neptune in fiery Aries whispers “leap into the unknown.” This dynamic tension can leave us questioning what we truly desire versus what we merely fantasise about.
Misunderstandings in relationships or public discourse can arise, as the line between fact and feeling gets blurry. The saving grace here is intuition and honesty. If we stay grounded and listen to that inner voice, we can navigate Neptune’s fog without losing our way. Jupiter in Cancer ultimately demands emotional truth; any glamorous illusion that doesn’t nourish our soul will eventually dissolve. By trusting our gut and keeping one foot on solid ground, we turn this square into an opportunity to refine our dreams. We learn to infuse our bold visions with the authenticity of the heart, avoiding the trap of false starts or idealistic crusades that lack empathy. In this process, a quiet miracle happens: we clarify what truly feeds us at a soul level.
These June weeks will be the maximum tension and relief challenge for what will begin starting July 7th, a configuration of growth that will expand us collectively and individually for the next years.
The tension at the end of June can be a time for smarter, “new allegiances, new needs, a new sense of family, and a new sense of connection with our spiritual Sisters and Brothers globally.
Under pressure, we might remember that we are one human family.
By late 2025, the cosmic tone softens considerably. As Jupiter sails through Cancer’s later degrees, Saturn and Neptune briefly retrograde back into Pisces, and something beautiful happens: a Water Trine shimmers into being. After the tests of summer, this feels like grace descending. During this period, waves of inspiration and compassion flow more freely. We may experience a surge of creative and emotional momentum, finding that our projects and relationships gel almost magically. But we might also experience loss, clearance, goodbyes.
Jupiter in Cancer serves a crucial role now: it nourishes the human side of change. And yes, it nourishes the women, the ones forgotten, unseen, abused and neglected. Progress devoid of compassion would not truly be progress. And so Jupiter in Cancer helps “nourish those projects rooted in personal meaning, freedom, and innovation,” aligning growth with the heart’s intelligence.
Mater Amoris, the mothering love, demands both courage and vulnerability.
We are challenged now to protect what is sacred by pouring our love into it, to be warriors of tenderness in a world that is awakening from coldness. This is how the feminine and masculine principles find a new harmony: bold action fused with loving wisdom.
The gifts of Jupiter in Cancer are profoundly life-changing. We are remembered we are not starting from zero, each of us possesses inner resources and talents, and when we focus on what we already have, even if small, it can grow into something much greater.
The crab only grows when it breaks its shell. Jupiter in Crab might just be able to do it for you, with you or against you. YOU CHOOSE. Remember: delays are not denials in 2025!
